819 - INVASION OF THE NEPTUNE MEN
[MST3K-0819]
$6.00

Movie Plot: Japan is attacked by an alien, and is saved by an insignificant hero. Watch for the bizarre scene featuring Adolph Hitler.

On the SOL: Servo, Crow, and the Nanites lose a battle against the mites that live on Mike's eyelashes / the 'bots Kabuke play degenerates / the crew is almost driven to insanity by the movie, but they are cheered up when the evil Krankor visits to try to conquer them.

In Ancient Rome: Bobo, who thinks he is a Roman warrior named the Mad Goth, is a celebrity / Pearl and Brain Guy try to tell Bobo who he really is / Pearl bashes Bobo over the head, which gets his memory back, but also gets the them, and Brain Guy, arrested.

Stinger: Little boy faw down

b: 11-Oct-1997

gs: Kevin Murphy (Callipygeas), Bridget Jones (Flavia), Kevin Murphy (Ned the Nanite), Dan Breyer (Roman Bay Player), Beth McKeever (Roman Bay Player), Paul Chaplin (Roman Bay Player), Patrick Brantseg (Roman Bay Player), Bill Corbett (Krankor)
d: Michael J. Nelson

NOTE: We learn that Pearl turns off the oxygen on the bridge during the movie to keep Mike in the theater. Because Mike and the bots found this movie so bad, they kept stepping out of it. There are parts that are riffed by just the bots, just Crow, and just Servo.

Yes, you did indeed see a Hitler Building. "What about the Mussolini Mall?!" It's incredible--Mike and the 'Bots come to closest ever to finally loosing it. Throughout the movie (Japan's version of "Independence Day"), they are virtually screaming and wailing! Still, this one is a must-have. Excellent sound and picture quality.
Togoshi Shikenoku - 12/16/2008 4 of 5 Stars!
Ah where to start..... 'how about ineffectual chicken headed bachelor" yeah that's the ticket! not sure which came first this or Prince of Space mike and the bot's critiqued riffs on the ambiguously mixed up 'hero' which by the way is "Nameless" are classic. I love the line about when the invaders 'invade' scare themselves and leave' hilarious. the only reason this get's 4 stars is that it legs on and get's boring (too silent) the phantom of p.o.s. was pretty irritating unlike the Neptune men who seem stupid, yet likable. It's a silent stupid happy invasion! And i feel fine. buy it.

Great episode. WATCH: little kids in short pants! WATCH: sfx over and over...etc! WATCH: the Hitler building blown up! It's all here and more.

I have to tell you, I belive I have almost every word of this episode memorized from watching it too much. It's amazing that I still laugh after at least fifty viewings, and I still find jokes that I have missed. This is the best two hours of television I have ever seen. Period.
cynthia ward - 08/09/2006 5 of 5 Stars!
Its hard to describe with words how funny this episode is, but i'll try. IT WAS SO FUNNY I ALMOST PEED MY PANTS! I'm sorry but it's true. Japaneese movies make for the best episodes of mst3k. it was fun for a change to see parts of the movie riffed by only crow, crow and tom servo, and just tom servo. It makes the episode more interesting and it keeps your attention much better. video A+ audio A+ THIS MOVIE WAS MADE FOR MST3K!
